Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program 2008/2009
Under the Fulbright Teacher Exchange program Estonian and American teachers directly exchange positions for one academic year, from August to June. Estonian teachers will get a scholarship and a round trip plane ticket. Although dependents are permitted, expenses of the accompanying family members are not covered by the scholarship.
Eligibility requirements for the applicants from Estonia are the following:
Estonian citizenship, university degree or diploma, current full-time teaching position, at least three years of teaching experience, very good knowledge of English to teach in a U.S. school, administrative approval from the school management granting a paid leave of absence, high professionalism and motivation, good health.
Subjects and level:
Teachers of grades 9 – 12 or two-year colleges in all disciplines. Preference will be given to English (ESL, EFL) and history/social sciences teachers.

Please note, that all submissions should include the completed application form:
Fulbright Scholarship Board cover page, detailed information about school/college and community, an essay, administrative approval, direct supervisor's approval, and three references.
Interviews with eligible candidates will take place in December. TELP (Test of English Language Proficiency) for teachers will be administered at the U.S. Embassy after the interview.
