The Department of State's Export Control and Border Security Program (EXBS) and the Department of Justice this week are hosting a three-day conference in Riga for Baltic-Nordic and American officials to exchange experiences in detecting and preventing the illegal trade of items that could be used to create weapons of mass destruction.

Estonia is sending sixteen officials, from the Tax and Customs Board, the Security Police, and from Estonian prosecutors and judges.  In addition to sharing information and best practices, this conference will build lasting ties between American, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian officials that will help make all of our countries more secure.
