Ambassador Polt Joins Baltic Pride March in Riga

U.S. Ambassador Michael C. Polt, along with the U.S. Ambassador to Latvia, Judith G. Garber, will participate on June 2 in the 2012 Baltic Pride parade in Riga, Latvia. The event is organized by The Association of LGBT and their friends “Mozaika” in cooperation with Lithuanian Gay League, Tolerant Your Association, Estonian Gay Youth and Amnesty International. The Baltic Pride celebration rotates each year between the three Baltic states. Last year, Ambassador Polt participated in Baltic Pride events in Tallinn. As U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has stated, “Gay rights are human rights … No matter what we look like, where we come from, or who we are, we are all equally entitled to our human rights and dignity.”
