Estonia and U.S. - Leaders Engaged in New Democracies

Estonia and the United States are co-hosting the first Community of Democracies’ working group meeting for theLEND Network (Leaders Engaged in New Democracies) in Brussels this week. Dr. Tomicah Tillemann, Senior Advisor to Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton for Civil Society and Emerging Democracies, and Ambassador Merle Pajula, Director of Policy Analysis in Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will co-chair the meeting of the LEND Network. LEND provides an on-line global forum for exchanging information and expertise on democratization from more than twenty countries and supports leaders as they work to build strong, accountable institutions and strengthen the rule of law.
