YOUR NEW U.S. PASSPORT

American citizens residing or traveling abroad who require a new U.S. passport are issued the same, state-of-the-art passport incorporating a photo-digitized image as is issued in the United States. U.S. Embassies and Consulates electronically transfer the passport information to a domestic U.S. passport facility, and completed passports are returned to the Embassy by express courier service. From application to receipt of a new passport, the process usually takes 7 to 10 business days. To replace lost or stolen passports in an emergency situation requiring immediate travel, a limited-validity locally-issued passport can sometimes be issued in lieu of the domestically-produced passport. So that we may better serve you, please make an appointment for passport services and other non-emergency consular services by calling the Consular section at 668-8100.
