U.S. and Estonia Cooperate to Prevent Smuggling of Nuclear and Radioactive Material

On February 25, the governments of the United States and Estonia signed a Memorandum of Understanding to coordinate efforts to prevent nuclear smuggling by installing radiation detection equipment at multiple border crossings in Estonia. The agreement expands on previous U.S.- Estonian cooperation in this area. Ambassador Phillips signed the memorandum on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy and Estonian Tax and Customs Board Director General Enriko Aav signed for Estonia.
