Strikes and Demonstrations

As noted in the local media, there are strikes and demonstrations planned throughout Estonia, notably in Tallinn, today. Delays and disturbances to traffic and/or public transportation during the strike will take place in several cities. The following events are planned in the capital today:

8 March – Approximately 12:00

Teachers march to Toompea and Parliament from Vabaduse Väljak.

8 March – All day

Very limited public transportation will be available in Tallinn. Expect higher than usual traffic volume and plan for delays.

Normal operation of public transportation will resume on March 9th

The labor strikes are expected to be peaceful, but please remain alert and aware of your surroundings when out and about during the dates of the strike. If you find yourself unintentionally in the middle of a demonstration, please remove yourself as quickly as possible and get to a safe location.
