U.S. Senators to Visit Tallinn October 14-15
Two U.S. Senators will visit Tallinn October 14-15 during a European trip to discuss NATO enlargement, Baltic Integration into Western structures, and other issues. Senator William Roth
(R, Delaware) and Senator Robert F. Bennett (R, Utah) will meet with Estonian officials, including President Lennart Meri, Prime Minister Mart Siimann, Foreign Minister Ilves, and Riigikogu
Speaker Toomas Savi, among others.
Senator Roth is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance which has jurisdiction over tax policy, international trade, health and welfare issues, and social security. He is Chairman of
the Senate NATO Observers Group and President of the North Atlantic Assembly, NATO's parliamentary arm.
Senator Bennett is the junior senator from Utah. He serves on The Senate Committee on Appropriations; the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; the Senate Committee on Governmental
Affairs; the Senate Committee on Small Business; and the Joint Economic Committee.
