PARTNER CITY PROGRAM FOR 2005

March 2005

Guitarist Edward Merryman from Westminster will take part as guest musician in Musicalfestival Paide 2005 on March 19 – 22, 2005. Mr. Merryman works for Lehigh Cement Company located near Westminster. Lehigh is owned by the Heidelberg Cement Group, the same German company that owns Optiroc Company in Järva County. During his stay in Paide we have planned a visit and tour for him of the Optiroc Company on March 22, 2005.

March 2005

Mr. Thomas Beyard is scheduled to visit Paide in preparation for a Paide government and business delegation visit to Westminster in May, 2005. He will meet with Paide Town Government members, leaders of business associations and others to clarify the objectives of the upcoming visit. This event is still tentative.

May 2005

A group of eight Paide government and business leaders are scheduled to visit Westminster in May, 2005 as participants in a government and business exchange. This event is still tentative.

June or July 2005

Paide Girls Choir ''SIRJELIND'' are scheduled to perform and sing in Westminster. This event is still tentative.

August or September 2005

Continue “swap'' employee project between Town Governments. The Town Governments need to identify the employees.

September or October 2005

Continue business employee “swap” between two cities. Officials of the two cities need to identify participating businesses.

Paide student SILVER HANSEN has a full scholarship to continue his studies at Carroll Community College in 2005. He will complete his second semester in December, 2004 and will have approximately one year left to obtain his two-year degree.
