U.S. Ambassador Congratulates Estonian People
U.S. Ambassador to Estonia Joseph DeThomas remarked today (November
22):
"I congratulate the Estonian people and the Estonian government for
their great achievement at Prague. The Estonian people and their
leadership have reason to be very proud of achieving this historic goal--
an invitation to join NATO-- in a mere eleven years of reindependence.
Many individuals, from a variety of political parties, through a series of
different governments, played vital roles in securing this success for
Estonia, and they all deserve great credit for this accomplishment."
Ambassador DeThomas will travel today to Vilnius to participate in
the meeting of the Presidents of the Baltic States with President
George W. Bush on Saturday.
