Adding Additional Visa Pages to a U.S. Passport

Passport applicants are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the Consular Section. This page provides information only for American citizens who wish to have additional visa pages pasted into a valid passport.

If your passport is running out of blank visa pages, 24 additional visa pages can be pasted into your passport free of charge.  The applicant need not apply in person, but rather may send a representative apply for this service.  However, the applicant must personally sign the application form.  You must present the following items:

-  Completed Form DS-4085

-
  Your current passport.

This service generally takes at least 30 minutes to complete for those applicants who have made an appointment.  Walk-in cases may take more time.  You may wait for the passport to be ready, or arrange to come back later to pick up the completed passport.

Other types of amendments to passports are no longer permitted, although replacement passports can be issued under certain circumstances to correct errors or to reflect a name change.

More information on U.S. passports is available on the main travel website of the U.S. Department of State.
